The kind with stairs. The big fat ones. I’d wanted to climb one of these for a while. Had to leave my car in a sketchy spot. Had to climb a barbed wire fence with a mean looking dog barking its head off at me. Had to dyno the bottom of the ladder from a small bolt as a foothold. These last two made for a nice challenge on what would have been a rather mundane mission.
See if you can guess the city, I won’t list them anymore as someone has made it their business to email the owners of everywhere I’ve taken photos from. 99% of them don’t care, but that 1% has become an annoyance. But I digress. Someone should buy one of these big water towers and make a house out of it. Cut windows in the side of the tank. Put in an elevator and you have a zombie-proof mansion with a view. Maybe if I hit the lotto.
Oh and if you climb one of these yourself and when getting to the top you are so startled by the fake owl that you lose your balance and fall a few feet don’t feel bad, it happens to the best of us.

zombie proof is a bold statement.
I dont know, The tops of small buildings seem to be good enough. Whoever is trying to call in on you needs tossed to the zombies…
I know where this is only because I spend 70+ hours a week working in one the buildings in pic 1 of this set. Love watching what you guys do. Keep it going!
I grew up there and what great pictures!!!
So for us that didn’t grow up there, what city???
curt i am a zombie, and i say it isnt zombie proof.
Some people need to find better things to do with their lives. (Talking about the snitch.)
I love Winston-Salem from any altitude. Planning on going to Greensboro anytime soon?
hey now. zombie-proof water tower was my idea. also, next time i’m in winston, i am so climbing this.
I’ve always wanted to get on one of the water towers that has a spiral staircases. They are so cool. There is a particular one in Charlotte that I’ve had my eye on for a while that will probably involve rope and ascenders.
